Do you hire an expensive professional crew?
Set up your own cameras?
Rely on the event’s production team?
That last one is what we’re going to focus on today. While it may be tempting to simply gather official event video footage from your client, there are several reasons why this might not be in your best interest.

We’ve already talked at length about how important video is for your speaking business. In fact, it’s one of the top assets you should include on your speaker website.
(Yes, aggressive. I shout because I care.)
Then, there may be times when it makes sense to hire a professional video crew to come record your speech.

But… under no circumstances… should you rely on your event organizer or their production team to provide you with high quality video from their event. It doesn’t matter how much they promise you’ll love it.
